The space
Neon signs light up the entryway and staircase, a pinup mural runs down the hallway, and a faux fire display glows in the living room, a light fixture shaped like flames with none of the upkeep of a real one. Green Room has personality the moment you walk in, before anyone's even picked a bedroom.
The open-concept kitchen keeps the whole group in one room instead of splitting cooks from everyone else, with a large island, bar seating, and grey cabinetry that puts the cook in the middle of the conversation. Upstairs, a small coffee bar with a mini-fridge means the first person awake doesn't have to wake the house to get coffee going.
The old garage is now the Green Room, a game room built for tournament nights: a shuffleboard table on one side, ping pong on the other, all behind a garage door you can open up when the weather's good. It's a built-in hangout for anyone who wants a change of scenery from the main living room.
Grab coffee at the Starbucks down the block, stock the fridge at Publix without waiting on delivery, then walk across the street for the new Hattie B's location before an evening on the covered balcony under string lights. When the group's ready for Broadway, it's just a short drive downtown.
